On 30 April Katie played in the West Midlands U12 tournament. She played some solid badminton in the pool stages and won all her matches quite convincingly. In the Semi final she had to play a strong player but was again more than up to the task winning 21-12. In the final Katie met the #2 seed and had a hard fight on her hands. She came through it to win 21-17. She then went on, with Matilda Franklin, to win the doubles gold too.
