U16s away to Devon

Geoff 11/11/2019

The U16's were away to Devon on the 10th November, it was a very hard
match for our team however they all showed their resilience and gave
Devon a good run for their money, the final result was 27-9 to Devon.

Bearing in mind the youth of the team and the steepness of the learning
curve against more experienced players they are all to be commended.

Many thanks are due to the parents, coach Steve Hulbert, manager John
Jenkins and all the supporters for getting to the Teign School venue, a
journey of some 2 hours or more ( and to the powers that be for keeping
the rain off on the way back ).

Special thanks also go to Matt Jenkins for his energetic support and
team advice.

Devon provided some excellent refreshments which didn't last too long
when attacked by two teams of U16's, many thanks to our hosts for the
refreshments and for organising the event.

This was the first match of the season for the U16's and quite a
distance to travel, as a team they were untried with a large age and
experience range, they came within a few points of winning more games
which all augers well for the future.
